Million Dollar BAG..

The Mulberry 'DelRey'

Like there hasn't been enough hype about these bags already.. I was so excited to learn that Mulberry had debuted a line of prim, proper and practical bags named after another strong, independent pop culture icon this Spring(remember the Alexa?). Emma Hill, Mulberry's creative director met Lana Del Rey last year and is said to have been so “captivated by her soulful, melancholy voice and the nostalgic beauty of her Video Games single and video” that she took to the drawing boards immediately. The 25-year-old songstress has such a powerful mastery of old Hollywood glamour that being a muse to such a big fashion house is no surprise. Lana Del Rey was sat front row at the debut of the bag on the Mulberry F/W 2012  runway in London, carrying the white ostrich leather DelRey (the one especially made for her).

p.s. The bag doesn't really cost a million dollars.. It hits the stores in May and should retail for about $1,250. I am a Lana Del Rey fan myself and 'Million Dollar MAN' is one of my favorite singles off her new album Born to Die. Listen below. haha.

p.p.s. Happy Leap Year Day! What are you guys gonna do with your extra day?

terms of contrast..

sweater - f21
chain belt - f21
cheap monday 'second skin' jeans (here)
bag - aldo
boots - american eagle

One thing I love about this outfit is the way everything contrasts. Its so spring! The teal and blue on the sweater and the tan purse with the black detailing. I love this Aldo bag because it's great quality for the price and the style is classic and practical. These jeans are also a really special pair! They're really comfortable and they're the perfect fit. The high waist is flattering and so is the color. If you don't own a pair of denim from the swedish brand, you definitely should!

As some of you know, my school is on the quarter system and this is our exam week. (booo! lol) I have 3 exams this week, but I have posts lined up for you guys, don't worry! I can't wait to be over and done with this quarter already. Wish me luck and Have a great week!

Favorite Blogger of the Now..

Chiara Ferragni: The Blonde Salad

Chiarra Ferragni. Don't know the name? You definitely should! Beautiful, amazing sense of style, ambitious and street smart - some of her many endearing characteristics. After receiving the  NewComer of the Year award from Bloglovin' last year and her most recent Bloglovin' award as Blog Business of the Year, Chiarra has proven that she has unlimited drive. She is passionate about and dedicated to what she does. I spend HOURS scrolling the endless pages of her blog and never get bored.. Her outfits are very well put together and she has a keen eye for trendy pieces that characterize her personal style. With over 30 blogposts each month, you will never miss a day in Chiarra's exciting life! I discovered her blog a few months ago, and have been hooked ever since! There's nothing not to love about her!

what's in my everyday bag?

this counts as my notebook, my novels, my magazines and my laptop.. considering getting one for school? you should.

I never leave the house without one in these times.

hand lotion
because my hands can never be moisturized enough.

onion breath? pack three more! lol.

my personal butler/assistant.

mini-makeup kit
mirror, translucent powder, kabuki brush and lipgloss. I really recommend MAC Prep + Prime - its like the god of loose powders.

to be worn when appropriate. i.e. as a disguise or sunshield or to simply add character to any outfit.

wallet + keys
first thing you should check your purse for before you leave the house! I've had to learn this the hard way.

this always manages to find its way into my bag everyday.. #EngineeringGirlProblems

NYFW F/W 2012 faves so far..

Helmut Lang
I love the seriousness of this collection. The crisp lines juxtaposed with the billowy silhouettes - I love everything about it!

The leather dresses, the 90s shoulders and the menswear inspired turtlenecks and trousers. This collection was one that stood out to me in particular. Even their makeup is pristine!

I have really enjoyed every show this fashion week but these are the two I love the most so far. I also love the playfulness of the Betsey Johnson show, the JackieO-ness of the Oscar De La Renta, the effortlessness of the Marc Jacobs and many more that I can't afford the time and space to write down! You'd think I was there by how much I keep up with these things.
I'd like to thank, the source of these pictures and the reason I'm not shooting myself in the foot for not being in the city right now!

neutral content..

head scarf - american apparel
necklace - f21 [gift]
knit cardigan - f21
tshirt - f21
riding pants - american apparel
flats - mia

Have you guys noticed how much I love american apparel? I've been wanting to wear my riding pants all this while and I finally got the chance to, today! I love the taupe and henna color because they're so neutral and versatile. Have you guys also noticed how "springy" I've been dressing lately, as well?.. I'm already anticipating the season - I'm so excited! I wish I was going to fashion week in New York right now.. I know I'm not the only one sitting in front of their computers virtually there! haha, I'm about to head to class now. I'll see you guys later!

'til we overdose..

sunglasses - rayban
watch - fossil
jacket - vintage
xo crewneck sweatshirt
shorts - american apparel
shoes - Jeffrey Campbell 'Back Off'

I decided to document my outfit from yesterday seeing as it was 46 degrees and sunny, in February, in Rochester, and thus a day to be remembered! I threw on shorts and this wool jacket and paired it with my shoes just to show how practical they really are! Any other fans of OVOXO/The Weeknd out there? Yeah, I see you!
